The „Jelcz” P662D/S662D is a family of off-road trucks, manufactured at the “Jelcz” plant in Poland. After the bankruptcy of "Jelcz" S.A. Automobile Plant and the separation of the joint-stock company (until 2014 called "Jelcz - Komponenty"), which produces products for the needs of the Polish Army, these trucks are produced only in the militarized version, which is often used to equip combat devices and specialized equipment. The first example of the Type 662 line of cars was the S662D prototype platform truck with a civilian Type 134 cab. The car participated in the II "Jelcz Rally" in 1987, and in 1988 it was handed over to PlMot for testing. “Jelcz” P662D/S662D (6x6) is a high-mobility, all-wheel drive, off-road truck. They are equipped with a military high or lowered cabin, adapted for the installation of additional armor or integrally armored, 2, 4 or 6 seats (2 or 4 doors). Civil model cabins were also used. The Iveco "Cursor" 10 EURO III engine installed in the car has a working volume of 10.3 liters and develops 430 h. p. power, older versions were fitted with a “Steyr” engine. Gearbox mechanical 16 gears. It is possible to install a fuel transport tank CD-10, a water transport tank CW-10, an artillery radar WRC-1000 "Liwiec" on the platform of these cars. WR40 "Langusta" salvo fire system or “NSM” anti-ship missile launch equipment are also installed on these cars.

A complex, well-detailed and carefully designed truck model with full cab interior, cargo platform and chassis detailing, but without engine compartment equipment, suitable for intermediate and advanced modelers only. Modelers with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can try to make this model without a cabin interior, with a simplified cargo platform covered by an open tent, a simplified chassis, opaque windows. But it won't be an "easy walk" either.
