“Faun” Fl. The Kfz 3500 is a modern specialized fire fighting vehicle, used for both civilian and military applications, manufactured in Germany. The car is 9.5 m long, 2.75 m wide, and 3.25 m high. The car is equipped with one 8-cylinder “Deutz” engine. The model, presented in the publication, depicts a fire engine, built by the German company “Faun-Werke”. The company was founded back in 1917 and, since the nineties of the 20th century, the companies "FAUN Umwelttechnik GmBH" and "TADANO FAUN GmBH" have been considered its legal successors. The inspiration for the production of these cars was the West German Bundeswehr, which, since the seventies of the 20th century, was looking for a completely new, as high as possible technical level firefighting vehicle, capable of successfully fighting fires arising at military airfields, using Panavia “Tornado” and F-4 “Phantom”aircrafts. These planes carry much more fuel, than the planes, used by the Luftwaffe, which in the event of a fire presents more problems in extinguishing them. The new machines were put into use at the turn of the eighties and nineties. Cars of this model can transport a large amount of fire-extinguishing materials and liquids.
A model of medium complexity, but intended for beginners and less experienced modelers, without internal equipment and simplified to the point, that modelers of this level, if they take their time and use all their knowledge, skills, patience and diligence, will glue this model together without any help from more experienced colleagues.
