“Vanguard” is the name of a class of British nuclear submarines with ballistic missile (SSBN) carriers, built between 1986 and 1998. A total a four ships of this class were built. They all still sail the oceans and serve in the British Royal Navy. The “Vanguard” class vessel is 149.9 m long, 12.8 m wide and has a water capacity of approximately 15,900 tons. Maximum underwater speed exceeding 25 knots. The main armament of this class consists of 16 “Trident II D-5” ballistic missile launchers and four 533 mm torpedoes. “Vanguard”-class ships have been designed and started to replace “Resolution”-class ships in the Royal Navy. The new British SSBN vessels are much larger, than their predecessors, both in length and - especially - in submarine speed. They also carry completely different, much better, ballistic missiles with a range more, than 12,000 km, each capable of carrying up to 8 nuclear warheads. “Vanguard”-class boats also make less noise, than their predecessors and are much more efficient, with high underwater speeds. The estimated value of one “Vanguard”-class ship exceeds $ 1.5 billion. Pounds sterling. Ships of this class are expected to be replaced by ships of the “Dreadnought” class.
Uncomplicated, well-designed and maximally detailed model (even fully equipped and openable missile shafts with internal missiles can be made). However, like most modern submarine models, it will definitely fit perfectly even for advanced beginners, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. In a word - "cigar" and so ...
