"Hollandia" - a container ship, built at the Gdańsk Shipyard in Poland for a Dutch shipowner, launched in 1977. The ship's length is 204 m, width - 30.8 m, draft - 10 m. The ship is equipped with engines, manufactured at the “Zakłady Cegielskiego” factory in Poznań, with a total power of 29,000 h. p., and the maximum speed of the ship reached 22 knots. The ship's operating range was 14,500 nautical miles. The crew of this large ship consisted of 33-37 people. “Hollandia”, along with eight other ships of the same type, belonged to the 463B type. It was the first container ship, built by a Polish shipbuilding company in the entire history of this industry, built by order of the “Caribbean Overseas Line” shipping company, which in the 1970s sought to establish regular sea traffic between the ports of the Caribbean basin and Western Europe. Interestingly, the second ship of this type (named “Astronomer”) was adapted by the British Royal Navy as an auxiliary ship, but despite this, it was not used in the Falklands War (1982). It is also worth adding, that the delivered container ship “Hollandia” often changed owners, serving until 2002. That year it was sold for scrap metal.
A large and well-detailed model of a large ship, also well-designed, intended only for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. The model has a well-designed exterior detailing. There are quite a few colors reserve in this model. You can make one of two ships (the “Hollandia” or “Caraibe” model) both have separate side and stern parts. The container models are a bit disappointing - they are not made of separate containers, but of their blocks. True, with a color printer, it is not difficult to make them "real", but does everyone need it... The textual instruction in Polish is quite large, detailed and will definitely help in the process of assembling the model. The graphical instruction is also large and is definitely sufficient for good assembling of the model, informative and easy to read.
