Matsue Castle (Japan)

Matsue Castle (also known as the Black Castle) is a Japanese defensive complex, built in Shimane Prefecture on Hosniu Island, near Lake Shinji. The castle is one of the few objects of this type in Japan, that has been preserved as a wooden building. Currently, it is included in the so-called list of one hundred castles of Japan. Matsue Castle was founded by Taduji Horio, and was built in 1607–1611. The building has the form of a six-story observation tower. The name of the building in colloquial speech – Black Castle – arose because most of the walls were painted black. Despite the magnificent and ornate architecture, it is strictly a military building. The current appearance of the castle and its surroundings can be dated back to 1875, when the entire castle environment was destroyed and only the bergfried (Japanese tenshu) remained. The castle happily survived the Second World War and escaped the major American air raids. In 1950–1955, major repairs and conservation work were carried out.

A small, not very complicated, well-designed and quite richly detailed model for modelers of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience recommend gluing this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, forgot the rush, working patiently, carefully and thoroughly. There are no stock colors and textures, the textual instructions are in Polish, as for this model - quite large, and quite detailed, the graphical instructions - only 3 drawings, but they should be enough for good gluing of the model.
