KV-5 – the USSR heavy tank - project

Projecting work was carried out by specialists of the Z. Ya. Kotin Design Bureau. Work on the KV-5 and KV-220 heavy tanks took place at the Leningrad Kirov Plant. The tank boasted the thickest armor used at that time. A technical project for the KV-5 was developed and the production of several components and assemblies began. With the outbreak of war it was necessary to make a number of design changes. For example, the idea of a stamped tower was abandoned and replaced with a welded one. Due to the lack of an appropriate 1200 h. p. power diesel engine (it was under development), the KV-5 was redesigned to accommodate two conventional V-2 engines mounted in parallel. However, as the Germans approached Leningrad, work on the KV-5 was stopped in the first half of August 1941.

A small-scale model of a medium-size tank, intended for modelers of any experience. Even a beginner, who has glued several models, will glue this model without much difficulty and without the help of more experienced colleagues. However, working in a company is much more fun and the work itself goes better. The model is moderately detailed, with a nice camouflage with strange spots of a "used" tank. The textual instruction in Ukrainian is not very large, but quite detailed, the graphical one is also not too large, but quite informative, easy to read and they will certainly both help You glue this simple, but beautiful model.
