Work on the Reggiane Re.2000 “Falco” fighter began at the Italian aviation company “Officine Meccaniche Reggiane” S. p. A in 1938, the main designer was engineer Roberto G. Longhi. This design was modeled on the American Republic P-35 deck fighter. The first flight of the prototype took place on May 24, 1939. It confirmed good flight characteristics and the Italian Navy ordered a test series of 12 aircraft Re. 2000 "Falco I". These aircraft were intended to become deck fighters for the Italian battleships "Littorio", "Vittorio Veneto" and "Roma". They were launched from the ships with the help of catapults. Due to the fact, that the Italian Air Force did not show further interest in these aircraft, 60 of them were sold to Sweden, where they received the designation J20, and 70 - to Hungary, which also bought a license for their production under the name Reggiane Re. 2000 "Heja". At the end of 1941, another 24 fighters were produced for the Italian AF, but in the "Falco III" version with an increased flight range of up to 2000 km. By the end of World War II, about 170 aircraft were produced in Italy and another 198 in Hungary. At the beginning of the war, the Re. 2000 was used as a deck fighter for Italian battleships, the “Falco III” aircraft were based in Sicily, from where they fought against the Allied air forces in the Mediterranean, and in the Hungarian AF it was the most commonly used fighter in the war.

A small, interesting, well-designed and richly detailed, medium-complexity model of one of the Italian AF battleship deck fighter, painted in standard camouflage for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. But, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model will be assembled by an advanced beginner or a modeler with little experience. Only haste, carelessness and all sorts of other bad work qualities are completely undesirable here. The model perfectly reproduces all visible exterior details, the interior of the cabin, the chassis, its niches, and the control surfaces - only separated from the main surfaces. There are no color reserves, the textual instructions in Polish are small, but perfectly complement the rather large graphic instructions of the model.
