Lockheed Martin F-16C "Block 50" "Viper Demo Team 2024" – the US fighter

The General Dynamics F-16C - a fourth-generation fighter, designed and serially produced in the 1970s. It was created, based on the experience, gained in the 1960s. Its latest versions meet the requirements for 4th and 5th generation fighters. The F-16 was designed, based on the results of research, initiated by the "Lightweight Fighter Program". The USAF began this program in 1960. During the projecting works, great attention was paid to the experience, gained during military conflicts, in which the United States participated, especially from the Vietnam War. Initially this fighter was supposed to be only a day fighter, complementing the heavier F-15 “Eagle”. The project was greatly influenced by the doctrine of flexible response, which provides for the adaptation of combat means to the emerging threat, first of all using all the capabilities of conventional weapons and only in extreme cases using nuclear weapons. Both phases required the use of fast, small aircraft, that could carry different weapons. Therefore, from the very beginning, the F-16 was expected to be used for attacks on ground targets. The prototype, designated YF-16, first flew on February 2, 1974. After structural and equipment changes, the aircraft was sent to serial production in 1976 (both single-seat and two-seat versions). The first aircraft, entered service in the USAF in January 1979. The design was further refined to optimize performance and equipment, and to make it more versatile. In the 1980s versions C and D were produced, which replaced all F-16A and B aircraft in service of the USAF by the early 1990s. In 1993 production was taken over by “Lockheed Corporation”, for which sold the “General Dynamics” production division to it. In 1995 “Lockheed” merged with “Martin Marietta” to form “Lockheed Martin”, which is still the largest manufacturer of F-16s, including those, delivered to Poland. The F-16C, serial number 91-0395, was used by the USAF F-16 “Viper Demonstration Team” in 2024 and was painted in a special camouflage pattern to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the F-16's first flight. A complex, well-designed and richly detailed USAF F-16C "Block 50" model from "Viper Demo Team 2024" for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. The model details everything, that is visible on the outside: weapons, which would probably be enough for more, than one model, the chassis, its niches, external details, as well as perfectly detailed cockpit equipment, partial engines (as far, as they are visible from the outside), beautiful painting in the colors of the US flag. Very excellent and detailed graphical instruction, only the images is slightly spoiled by not very clear render-type drawings. The textual instruction in Polish are medium in size and are more, than a supplement to the graphical ones. There are no color reserves.
