Malcolm Moore Eng. – the Australian narrow gauge locomotive

The locomotive "Malcom Moore Eng." - the general name for a series of narrow gauge diesel locomotives, that were produced during the Second World War by "Malcom Moore Engineering", based in Sydney. The locomotive was 3.53 meters long and 1.75 meters wide. It was equipped with a single 8-cylinder engine, manufactured under license from “Ford”. Most locomotives of this type were adapted for a 610 mm (2 ft) gauge. A total of about 90 locomotives of this type were produced. The locomotive "Malcom Moore Eng." was designed and manufactured for the needs of the Australian Armed Forces, which, with the outbreak of World War II, sought to obtain a narrow-gauge railway locomotive for transporting goods in seaports or military bases. The new locomotive had to be small, easy to use and powerful. Ultimately, locomotives of this type met expectations and proved to be very useful. After 1945 the surviving locomotives were transferred to the civilian sector, where they were mainly used in industry and plantations.

A small and simple model of a small locomotive, well-designed and well-detailed, suitable for modelers of any experience. There are no color reserves. Advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to glue this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, working not rushing, patiently and carefully. The model depicts a locomotive, that worked at the “Moreton Sugar Mill” after the war and transported sugar beet raw materials to the factory. The model is equipped with a wagon for transporting these beets. The textual instruction in Polish and English is very large for a model of this size, but detailed, informative and perfectly complement the graphical instructions, which is also quite large, easy to read, quite detailed and informative.
