The keel of the "colonial" cruiser "Lavoisier" was laid at the Toulon shipyard in January 1895, launched in April 1897 and finally completed in 1898. The whole series consisted of three ships, but "Galileo" and "Liney" ended their service in 1910-1911. “Lavoisier” had to participate in World War I. At its beginning the cruiser protected French fishing boats near the coast of Iceland, patrolled the English Channel, Port Said and the eastern Mediterranean. From 1916 - stationed in Morocco, from July 1918 he returned to the Mediterranean again. Disarmed in 1919, excluded from the lists in 1920.

A moderately complex, well-designed and richly detailed cruiser III class “Lavoisier” model for intermediate to advanced modelers.
