Type B-368 – the Polish type of post-war sea fishing cutters, the length of which was about 17 m. Fishing ships of this type were created in 1946-1947 according to Prof. Jerzy Doerffer project for the needs of Polish fisheries, whose fleet was greatly destroyed during World War II. From the very beginning it was assumed, that the B-368 type would be cheap and easy to build, adapted to use the fishing tools, already available in Polish fisheries, and would be powered by a diesel internal combustion engine. The ships were to guarantee the safest possible navigation in the Baltic Sea, but the living conditions of the crew were considered secondary. This type of cutters was also characterized by all-steel construction, only the deck was covered with wood. Initially, cutters of this type were built in Gdynia and Gdansk, and from 1952 their building was taken over by companies in Szczecin. It is worth adding, that they were built until the mid-1970s! Even now, somewhere in small ports on the Polish coast, You can see cutters of this type, living their last days or even well-maintained and working.
A small, but well-designed and richly detailed model of a small fishing ship, which will suit modelers of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, do not rush and do everything carefully and accurately, some nodes can be simplified a little, without compromising the overall appearance of the model. The model has excellent detailing of the hull, deck equipment, superstructures, fishing and other equipment. There is even detailing of the control cabin equipment, which less experienced modelers may not do. There are no color reserves. The textual instruction in Polish is not very extensive, and only a dozen general notes and a description of the most complex parts of the model. However, an excellent, fairly large, informative and easy-to-read graphical instruction will really help a lot in the process of gluing the model. Although, the scale on the cover of the publication is 1 : 100, it is more likely 1 : 50, because the actual length of the ship is about 17 m, and the model is 35 cm. Antiquarian publication.
