The ship's keel was laid in 1899 Neva Shipbuilding and Mechanical Plant shipyard in St. Petersburg. The project was based on the “Yarrow” company project. Launched on August 4, 1901. During the Battle of Tsushima in 1905 May 14 "Buinyj" was part of the 1st destroyer squadron and kept to the left of the Russian battleships, did not fire, having orders to guard the battleship "Osliabya". As soon as "Osliabja" began to sink, the destroyer approached the sinking ship at full speed and began to rescue the crew, floating in the water under fire. "Buinyj" took a total of 204 people on board, before being fired upon by Japanese cruisers and the destroyer was forced to stop rescuing the battleship's crew. After returning to the squadron, the crew of "Buinyj" noticed a burning Russian ship under heavy fire from the enemy. This ship turned out to be the flagship “Kniazj Suvorov”. Under enemy fire, "Buinyj" approached the leeward side of the battleship at high speed; every minute the fragile hull of the destroyer could hit the armored sides of the “Suvorov”. This daring maneuver, according to contemporaries, brought "Buinyj" and its captain immortal fame.

The model is well designed and richly detailed. Graphic assembly diagrams are very clear and informative. Recommended mainly for experienced modelers, but the model is not too complicated and even an advanced beginner and novice modeler, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can glue it together. But it won't be easy
