ORP "Nieuchwytny" – the Polish heavy armed river cutter of the interwar, World War II and post-war periods. The keel was laid in 1932 and it entered service in 1934. The ship's displacement was 40 tons, length - 23 meters, width - 4 meters. The cutter boat was armed with one 40 mm “Vickers” cannon, which was later replaced. ORP “Nieuchwytny” was constructed as an intermediate ship between heavy river monitors and small ships such as river gunboats. The project of the ship, called a "heavy gun cutter", was the responsibility of team leader Witold Zajączkowski. After some construction changes were made to the ship already under building process, it entered service in 1934 and was assigned to the Pina (also known as Pinsk) Flotilla, where it served until March 1939. From 2 to 10 September 1939 the cutter actively fought against the attacking German troops, but on 10 September, when the ship was threatened with capture, the crew sank it. Shortly after the end of the September campaign, ORP “Nieuchwytny” was raised by the Germans and later the cutter was repaired and converted. It was also renamed “Pioneer”. It remained in German service until 1945 January, when it was sunk for the second time. It is worth adding, that under the German flag the ship participated in the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. After the end of World War II (1947), the cutter was raised for the second time and repaired and served until 1957. Cut up only in 1975.
A small, simple, well-projected and well-detailed model, suitable for modelers of any experience. Only advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, not rushing, carefully and attentively. There is a small reserve of gray and red colors and some details. The textual instruction in Polish and English is quite large for a ship model of this size, informative and a good complement to the not very large, easy-to-read, perhaps a little too small drawings, but informative graphical instruction.
