Prosper Lambert 20HP - the 1903 French sports car

"Lambert" company was founded in France at the end of 19th century and operated under this name until the 50es of 20th century. The car presented in the publication was a typical "civilian" roadster of its time (1902 - 1907). Sports version cars did not have the necessary accessories - mudguards, glass, folding roof, lights and decorative elements, but they were installed with larger fuel tanks and two spare wheels, which were often required by racing regulations. In 1903, a "Lambert" car took part in long-distance races, such as Paris - Barcelona: it reached the finish, when most of the 250 cars (among them several "Renaults") did not finish the race. During the dawn of motorization, cars were produced in small quantities according to the order of a specific customer. This is where their unrepeatable coloristic, different equipment, decoration and the variety of arrangement of details in the production frames of the same model came from. The cars are made of wood on a steel frame, the engine cover is usually made of tin, a number of non-ferrous metal parts are used (lamps, radiator covers, horn tube, lighting gas - acetylene - generator, some engine elements.

The model, presented in the publication, can be made in several versions. The most complete and complex version provides a working steering mechanism, full engine compartment detailing and lamps with interior equipment. The other two versions are progressively simpler. The model is very colorful, well designed and quite richly detailed, it is intended for modellers of any experience, but less experienced ones are advised not to make a full version and work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
