The history of the "Ferret" car in Great Britain began in 1947, when begun the search for a replacement for the aging reconnaissance armored car Daimler "Dingo". The prototype without weapons was produced in 1949, and three years later it was put into serial production. These cars were produced in 16 versions even until 1971, and the number of produced exceeds 4400. It is clear, that this significantly exceeded the needs of the British and the “Ferret” was exported to Bahrain, Burkina Faso, Burma, Finland, Gambia, Indonesia, Jordan, Yemen, Qatar, Cameroon, Kuwait, Lebanon, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Nepal, Portugal, Central African Republic, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, United Arab Emirates. It also served in the UN Peacekeeping Forces. Since they were very widely exported, they were often used in many crises, conflicts and missions. The British Army withdrew the “Ferret” from its forces in the seventies of the 20th century, but in some countries of the world they are still used.
Medium-size, beautiful, well-designed and richly detailed, quite complex model of the British 17/21 Lancers Regiment during the clashes in Northern Ireland during the "The Troubles" conflicts between various Irish nationalist and Catholic Republican factions and the British Army and Ulster loyalists. The model is suitable for modelers of any experience, only beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced modeler. The model perfectly reproduces all visible exterior details, chassis, transmissions, suspension parts, weapons. There is a fairly large reserve of colors, the text instruction in Polish is not very large, quite detailed, perfectly complementing the also not very large, but quite informative and easy-to-read graphical instruction.
