Sd. Kfz. 251-17 Fallschirm-Panzer-Division „Hermann Goring“ – the German anti-aircraft gun armes armored car

Sd. Kfz. 251/17 (2 cm FlaK 38 auf m.SPW) is a self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle with a 2 cm FlaK 38 anti-aircraft gun. It was the first semi-tracked armored personnel carrier, produced as an anti-aircraft vehicle. The first prototypes have been tested since October 1943. Tested two prototypes on Sd. Kfz. 251 Ausf. A and Ausf. B chassis. Also produced a series of devices on the Ausf. C version chassis. Transporters of this variety had redesigned sides such that, when opened to the sides, they formed an enlarged area around the cannon for the personnel, serving the cannon. The crew of the transporter consisted of 4 soldiers, the armored vehicles were mainly used by Luftwaffe units (anti-aircraft defense). Also, devices of this type were in the arsenal of some armored combat units.
