The first prototypes of the GAZ-66 were created in 1962 and were the result of further development of the 1.2-ton GAZ-62 truck, produced in 1958-1962. Serial production of the GAZ-66 began in July 1964. Since 1968 these cars have been equipped with a centralized tire pressure regulation system. The last GAZ-66 rolled off the assembly line on July 1, 1999, after 965,941 cars were produced. Due to its durability, simple construction and very good mobility in difficult terrain, it has become a legend among drivers, who drive them. The GAZ-66 served as a platform for the construction of many special-purpose vehicles. One of them is the GAZ-66 KShM-R-142N command staff vehicle, which is recreated this model.

A perfectly designed and maximally detailed model, that will shock more than one modeler. A model for a true automobile modeling specialist. Excellent detailing (cabin interior, command cabin detailing, engine compartment, transmission, chassis, exterior detailing is stunning. You can make a hinged cabin, opening doors, all rotating and even steerable front wheels. The printing, where necessary, is double-sided, the graphic instructions are striking in the abundance and clarity of drawings, but the text instructions are quite modest - only general notes and a description of the assembly of several of the most complex units (in Polish and Russian). There is a considerable reserve of colors.
