Panzerkampfwagen IV (Pz. Kpfw. IV) - the middle tank of the German World War II. Until the autumn of 1942, it was the heaviest tank, used by the III Reich army. Initially armed with a short-barreled 75 mm caliber cannon, but from the experience of collisions with T-34 and KV Soviet tanks, the machines were armed with a long-barreled cannon of the same caliber. For months, it was the best tank in the Axis states, as the only one, that could fight an equivalent battle with any allied tank. Even with the advent of the heavy “Panthers” and “Tigers”, the “Fourth” was not permanently displaced from the armaments of the armored divisions and remained the main tank of the German army until the end of the war. Pz. Kpfw. IV. Ausf. J was characterized by a number of technological simplifications, that made it possible to speed up their production: the rotation of the tower was left only manual, and an additional fuel tank was installed, instead of the mechanical rotation mechanism. Side view cracks in the tower removed, modified exhaust system. Instead of sheet security screens, net, smoke, signal and anti-infantry grenade launchers have been installed. “Zimmerit” coating has also been abandoned. Produced from March 1944 to April 1945, a total of about 3,000 units were produced.
Sophisticated, well-designed and richly detailed, with full body, engine compartment and tower detailing.
