The Morane – Saulnier MS.406 C1 was the main fighter of the French Air Force at the beginning of World War II. Work on this aircraft began in the mid-1930s. It was based on the requirements, formed by the French military aviation, which provided for a construction of low-wing metal-structure fighter with retractable landing gear and capable of developing a maximum speed of over 450 km/h. The “Morane – Saulnier” project was selected from several prototypes presented. By the beginning of the war, about 1,100 fighters of this type were produced. When the Winter War began (when the USSR attacked Finland in November 1939), the Finns received 30 aircraft of this type from France (numbers MS-301 - MS - 330), and later another 57 copies. The aircraft with the number SM - 318 served in the Finnish Air Force from February 16, 1940.
A fairly simple, well-designed and moderately detailed model for modelers of any experience, except for complete beginners. But the model is not one, that can be assembled quickly - the complex fuselage shapes require patience, care and diligence, and the help of a more experienced colleague may also be useful. The model with cockpit equipment, well-restored chassis, colorful and variegated camouflage, recreates the appearance of the fighter, which Sergeant Toivo Tomminen flew and fought in the 3/LeLV28 unit during the Protracted War from June to September 1941. The text instructions are quite large and perfectly explain the entire process of assembling the model in Polish only, the graphic ones are also quite large, informative and quite easy to read. There are no color stocks.
