Sukhoi Su-27 UBM – the USSR/ Russian/ Ukrainian training and combat naval fighter

The Sukhoi SU-27 (NATO: “Flanker”) is a Soviet and Russian twin-engine heavy fighter, designed to conquer airspace. The prototype first flew in May 1977. The SU-27 aircraft was created as a response to the appearance of the F-15 “Eagle” in the US Air Force. The design of the SU-27 is very successful. Its great fame was determined by the wonderful “Saturn-Liulka” AL-31F engines, which provide 12,500 kg of thrust with the afterburner turned on, are easy to maintain, and can be interchanged. In addition, unlike many previous Soviet constructions, the SU-27 is distinguished by a long service life - up to 3,000 hours, when inspected every 100 hours of operation. This machine is at least comparable to the corresponding versions of the F-15 or PANAVIA “Tornado” ADV. The SU-27 is usually armed with AA-73 short-range missiles and long-range R-27 missiles, as well as a 30 mm GSh-30-1 cannon. The advantages of these weapons are high accuracy and rapid fire (1500 rounds per minute), the disadvantage is the short service life of the drum, which must be replaced after 80 seconds of firing! The standard radar on the SU-27 is the RLPK-27 device. The SU-27, along with the MIG 29 aircraft, are the main fighters of the Russian Federation Air Force. To date, several dozen versions of this aircraft have been created. The Su-27UBM is a training and combat version, adapted for take-off and landing on aircraft carriers. In these fighters are also armed Ukrainian AF.

A large, rather complex, well-designed and richly detailed fighter model for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. The model is painted in the so-called "pixel spot" camouflage of the Ukrainian AF, which is perfectly reproduced in the model. The details of the cabin interior, chassis, its niches, visible engine parts, hanging armament and external parts are also perfectly reproduced. There is a reserve of colors, the text instruction in Polish is small, but it perfectly complements the solid graphic instruction.
