Caudron CR.714 "Cyclone" – the French light low-wing fighter, mainly of wooden construction, with classic retractable landing gear. The aircraft is equipped with one “Renault” 12R01 engine, developing 450 h. p. power. The first flight of the prototype took place in 1936. in July, serially produced in 1939–1940. The CR.714 “Cyclone” was designed by French aircraft designer Marcel Riffard, drawing on experience, gained in the construction of sports aircrafts, manufactured at the “Caudron” factories, which were mostly light machines of mainly wooden construction. Due to its low production costs and good performance characteristics, the French Air Force decided, that it was worth starting serial production of the CR.714. However, during operation, it became clear, that the new fighter was very vulnerable, had a low rate of climb and most importantly, due to its wooden construction, it could not be equipped with more powerful engines. As a result, production was discontinued in 1940, and several units were exported to Finland. In 1939–1940 Polish pilots also fought in these fighters as part of the French Air Force against the attacking Germans.
A small, well-designed and richly detailed model of a small fighter, intended for modelers of any experience. Only for beginners and modelers with little experience, we recommend assembling this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, not to rush, and to do the cockpit equipment and the released chassis only as a test. If it works out - GREAT!!! - we make a full version of the model, if it doesn't work out - You will have to be content with a model with opaque windows and a retracted chassis. The model perfectly recreates the cockpit equipment, chassis, its niches, control surfaces can be glued together with the main surfaces, as well as separate parts, excellent exterior detailing, beautiful and rare state (Finland) spotted camouflage. There is no color stock. The publication is completed with details of the cockpit canopy and instrument panels and panels, printed on transparent thin plastic. The textual instruction in Polish is small and only a few notes on the topic of assembling the model, the graphical one is also small, but quite detailed, informative and easy to read. From the publication You can make a model of the Finnish light fighter Caudron CR.714C1 "Finish Cyclone" from No.6 LeV Squadron with the side marking "CA-556", which was flown and fought from Toukokuu base in 1941.
