"Sviatoj Nikolaj" – the 1688 Peter I's boat

The English boat was bought by the boyar Nikolai Ivanovich Romanov for river cruising. Peter I discovered it in Izmailov in 1688. The Dutch shipmaster Karsten Brandt repaired it, fixed the mast with a sail and lowered it into the Yauza River. Here Peter I learned to manage boats and sail. Later the boat was transported to the Prosianyj Pond in Izmailovo, where it remained until 1701 (the exact date is unknown), and later stored in the Kremlin. Celebrating the signing of the Treaty of Nystad in Moscow in January 1722, Tsar Peter I, remembering his youth, turned the boat into a monument by placing it on a wooden pedestal. On August 11, 1723 the boat participated in the inspection of the Baltic Fleet. After that, the boat was placed under a canopy in the Petropavlovsk Fortress, and in 1781 architect A. F. Vist built a small Boathouse in the fortress. Since 1946 the boat has been stored in the Central Naval Museum in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).

A model of a small sailship of medium complexity, requiring care and attention, the details of which are laser-cut from cardboard of the required thickness and also need to be painted in the appropriate color. The model can be assembled even by an advanced beginner modeler, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The kit includes a set of double-side printed flags. The textual instruction in Russian, English, German and Polish are quite extensive, informative and detailed, the graphical instruction - there are simply no words to express my admiration for her!!!
