"Iskra" - a training ship of the Polish Navy, designed by Polish designers, based on the experience, gained in the design and construction of the training frigate "Dar Mlodziezy" and the schooner "Pogoria". The new ship - a three-masted barquentine with a mechanical engine - the engine "Wola Hiz" develops 300 h.p. It turns a variable-pitch propeller. The ship is equipped with training rooms and three 15-seat living quarters for cadets. The permanent crew of the ship is accommodated in single and double cabins, and an eight-seat cockpit is equipped for sailors. The ship's commander's cabin is installed in the stern. Masts, booms, gaffs and spars are welded from 5-7 mm thick metal sheets. The helmsman's station is installed on a special elevation between the main superstructure and the foremast. The construction of "Iskra" lasted 10 months: the keel was laid on November 11, 1981, the vessel was launched on March 6, 1982, and on August 11, the ship's flag was solemnly raised in the Oksivie military port and it entered service.
A model of medium complexity, medium detail for modelers of any experience. Even an advanced beginner or a modeler with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, will perfectly assemble this model. There is no place for haste or carelessness here. There are no color reserves. The textual instructions are quite large, but could be more detailed, the graphics, one might say, are not at all and they will not help much in the assembling of hull and deck details. Rigging and spar work are somewhat more covered. Antiquarian publication.
