The castle is located in the historically oldest part of the city, on what is now Palackého Street, and is the oldest surviving building in the city. It was built in the first half of the 16th century as a manor house by the then owner of Kyjov, Jan Kuna of Kunštát. A year later, in 1548, when Kyjov became a royal city, it belonged to the city and served various purposes throughout its existence, such as a rectory, barracks, hospital, school and municipal apartments. In 1911, the building was completely renovated and decorated with sgraffito by academician Jan Köhler. The dates on the facade mark the most important dates in Kyjov's history, and Kohler also recorded his image here. Since 1928, the castle has served as a museum, with a permanent exhibition of archaeology, ethnography and Kyjov's nature. In addition, various temporary exhibitions are held throughout the year.

A well-designed and richly detailed model of a beautiful building of medium complexity for modelers of any experience. However, advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, and for the first, even to simplify the model. The graphic instructions are sparse, but sufficient, the text is in a considerable Czech language. There is no reserve of colors and textures.
