The 35-meter-high Piast Tower rises above Opole as an irreplaceable landmark and symbol of the city, mentioned in numerous publications and materials, promoting the regional capital. The tower is the last remnant of the now defunct Piast Castle and one of the oldest monuments of defensive architecture in Poland. Its history dates back to 1300, when it was built as a castle tower during the reign of Bolek I, Duke of Opole. In 2013–2014, the Piast Tower underwent a thorough restoration – the largest renovation since the 1930s. The aim of the work was not only to restore it, but also to adapt it for tourist purposes. Thanks to the project, visitors can admire not only the carefully restored medieval tower, but also multimedia exhibitions about the history of Opole, the Piast Castle and the Piast Tower. At the very top, a magnificent panorama of the city awaits them.

A very simple, not demanding much work and patience tower model, suitable for modelers of any experience, even complete beginners, who do not have an older modeler nearby, who could help at a difficult moment. There will be none here. A couple of evenings for a couple of hours and You already have a great, perhaps, the first model, glued together by Your own hands. The textual instructions are small, but detailed, the graphic ones are even smaller, but sufficient. There are no reserves of colors and textures. More experienced modelers from two magazines, base on the photos of the original tower, found on the Internet, can make a much more complex and realistic model of this tower from this publication.
