Republic P-47M "Thunderbolt" (pilot Capt. Gladych) – the US fighter

Republic P-47 "Thunderbolt" – the American single-engine low-wing fighter and attack aircraft with classic tailplates. It is considered one of the best American fighters of World War II. The prototype first flew in 1941, serially produced from 1942 to 1945. The P-47 can be described as the workhorse of the American Air Force both in Europe and in the Pacific. Although the 2000 h. p. power R-2800 "Double Wasp" engine, supercharger and exhaust system made the aircraft very large and heavy, this was not an obstacle to achieving excellent performance. The fighter's efficiency was so high, that it was used for both bomber escort and attack - bombing missions. For a long time the P-47 was the main performer of these missions. The huge number of aircraft produced testifies to the quality of the P-47. A total of 15,660 units were produced, of which 12,602 - D modification - this is an absolute record for the number of fighters, produced in one version. Another widespread version was the P-47N with modified wings, larger fuel tanks and a more powerful engine. It was used as both a fighter and an attack aircraft, and even after World War II until the early 1950s, the “Thunderbolt” remained one of the most popular American fighters. Technical specifications (P-47D version): length: 11 m, wingspan: 12.42 m, height: 4.47 m, maximum speed: 697 km/h, climb rate: 15.9 m/s, maximum range: 2,900 km, practical ceiling: 13,100 m, armament: eight 12.7 mm M2 machine guns, underwing payload: up to 1,100 kg of bombs or unguided rockets.

A medium-size well-designed, highly detailed, medium-complexity model of a medium-sized fighter, painted in US Air Force camouflage. This plane was flown by Polish pilot Captain Boleslaw Gladych, who became the third Pole to shoot down the most enemy aircraft. The model is suitable for modelers of any experience. Only advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, don’t rush, work carefully and attentively. The model perfectly reproduces all visible external details, landing gear, its niches, cockpit equipment, engine, armament (this model also has hanging armament - additional fuel tank, bombs), the control plates can be made both together and separately from the main plates. The color reserve is solid, but only gray and green. Metallic painted parts (or not painted) are printed in the publication in "Metallic" silver color. There is a possibility to cover the model with offset (without metallic colors) and chalk (with metallic colors) printed cladding's. Chalk paper makes the model much more realistic, but is very difficult to glue, therefore it is recommended only for intermediate and experienced modelers. The textual instruction in Polish is medium-size, covering the entire process of assembling the model, but very concise and only complements the medium-size, quite informative, clear and easy-to-read graphical instruction.
