In 1933 a competition was announced in Germany for the design and production of a light aerobatic aircraft for the final training of fighter pilots. It also had to meet the requirements of a second-line fighter. The Focke-Wulf factory built an aircraft, that perfectly met these requirements, receiving the designation FW-56. The famous German pilot-acrobat Gerd Achgelis before World War II won many world competitions with this aircraft. The FW-56 "Stosser" (German: Hawk) was also very fond of the Luftwaffe's co-author and one of its creators, the great pilot-acrobat, General Ernst Udet. As a acrobatic aircraft, the FW-56 was distinguished by excellent characteristics in any flight position, especially in the performance of figures in the vertical plane. For military purposes the aircraft were equipped with two machine guns, a small bomb bay between the landing gear legs, and some aircraft were equipped with bomb racks under the wing and fuselage. These wersion were adapted for dive bombing. The aircraft was powered by an air-cooled "Argus" As 10C engine, which turned a wooden two-blade propeller. A total of about 1,000 exemplars of this aircraft were produced, most of which served in fighter schools and some were exported abroad - to Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and other countries.
A well-designed and fairly detailed aircraft model of medium complexity for modelers of any experience. Only less experienced and advanced beginner modelers are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not to rush, to work carefully and thoroughly. The model recreates the aircraft of the 165th German fighter -dive bomber regiment with 1937 camouflage. The main complexity of the model is the attachment of the "parasol" type wing and maintaining symmetry. There is a considerable reserve of colors. The textual instructions are excellent, the graphic ones are also not bad and quite informative. Antiquarian publication.
