Zlin 50L/ LS – the Czechoslovakian/ Czech/ Polish aerobatic aircraft

Zlin Z-50 – a modern Czech (formerly: Czechoslovak) sports and aerobatic aircraft. It is a mixed-design, low-wing aircraft with a classic tail. The Z-50L version is equipped with one Lycoming AEIO-540-D4B5 engine, developing 260 h. p. The first prototype flight took place in 1975; serial production began in the same year. The Zlin Z-50 was designed and manufactured at the “Moravan Otrokovice” Aviation Plant (more popularly known as “Zlin Aircraft”). Work on the aircraft began in 1973, and computer systems were used, which were not very common at that time (especially in the civil aviation of the Eastern Bloc). The new aircraft turned out to be a successful, very lightweight machine, made using titanium alloys in important parts, but covered in canvas cladding in some places. During production several variants of this aircraft were created, including: Z-50L (the first production series) or Z-50LS (version with the Lycoming AEIO-540-L1B5D engine).

Not very complicated, well-designed and quite well-detailed model for modelers of any experience. You can make two complete models from the publication: one of the Polish aerobatic group "Želany" with the marking SP-AUC, the other - a regular plane of the Polish Lubusz Land Aeroclub with the marking SP-AUA. The models perfectly recreate the cockpit equipment, landing gear, all the exterior detailing, much attention was paid to the formation of the aileron structure, the control surfaces - only separated from the main ones. For advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, don’t rush and use all the reserves of patience, diligence and attentiveness. There are large color reserves, the textual instruction is large, detailed, informative in Polish, but to read it You may need a magnifying glass - such a small font. The graphical instruction is also large, informative, easy to read and it is not at all clear, which one complements which here :D The finished model simply asks for several layers of very glossy varnish (only the windows and tires do not need it).
