Messerschmitt Bf-109E-3 – the German fighter

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was the main fighter of the German Luftwaffe during World War II. The design was successful and for a long time easily lent itself to modernization. The first versions developed only about 460 km/h. maximum speed, the last ones already reached 740 km/h. The first work on the future Bf-109 began in 1934, and the last machines, built on the basis of 109, ended their service in Spain in 1958. In total, over 34 thousand Bf-109 and its derivatives were produced. The Bf-109E-3 version entered service in the Luftwaffe in May 1939 and 1,359 were built. 

A fairly simple, well-designed and moderately detailed model for modelers of any experience, except for complete beginners. But the model still requires patience, care and diligence, and can also be useful with the help of a more experienced colleague. The model with cockpit equipment, well-restored chassis, colorful and variegated camouflage of broken spots, recreates the appearance of the fighter in which Unterofficer Karl Wolf, serving in 3/JG A52, went down and crashed at Pichene near Kale in August 1940. This "White 15" was painted in the standard camouflage of the time with atypical quick identification marks (white wingtips, nose of the aircraft and rudders). The textual instruction is small and contains only general provisions with an explanation of the assembly of several assemblies in Polish and English, the graphic one is quite large, informative and quite readable. There are no color stocks.
