The gunboat "Axel Thorsen" had a twin - "Skjøn Walborg", and both were launched in 1810. Initially, they served as patrol ships, whose task was to protect merchant ships, sailing from Arkhangelsk from British attacks during the Napoleonic Wars. After the peace of 1815, the Norwegian authorities were very suspicious of Russian activities in Finnmark, Northern Norway, and in 1816 The “Axel Thorsen” was sent north to evict Russian settlers from the area and demolish their buildings. In 1817 and 1818, the “Skjøn Walborg” took over this role. Both ships also participated in the mapping program in the far north. In 1831 and 1832, a cholera epidemic broke out in Arkhangelsk, and the purpose of both ships was to prevent ships, sailing from the epidemic zone, from reaching northern Norway. In 1864, the “Axel Thorsen” participated in Adolf Nordenskiöld's expedition to Svalbard, and in 1870, the :Skjøn Walborg: was used on a similar expedition by Count Walburg-Ziel and Baron von Heuglin. Both ships hunted seals and walruses extensively in Novaya Zemlya. Their service ended in 1872, when both were crushed in the ice and perished.

A small and not very complicated model of a small sail ship for modelers of average experience and experienced. However, it is designed in such a way, that, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, it will be perfectly assembled by a modeler of little experience. But there is no place for haste here, as in modeling in general, and a lot of patience, attentiveness and diligence will be required. The model is perfectly designed and richly detailed. Secondary cladding is provided; there is a large reserve of colors and textures. The textual instruction in Polish and English is not from the top ten, but quite detailed and perfectly complements the exemplary graphical instruction.
