USS "Texas" (not to be confused with USS "Texas" BB-35) is an American battleship (per-dreadnought), whose keel was laid in 1889, June, launched in 1892, in June and was completely completed in 1895. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 94.1 m, the width was 19.5 m, and the full water capacity was about 6400 tons. Maximum speed did not exceed 18 knots. The ship was armed with: 2 x 305 mm guns, 6 x 152 mm guns and 12 x 57 mm rapid-fire guns. USS "Texas" is sometimes considered the first true American per-dreadnought battleship and has been compared to European warships of the time. This was Washington's response to the strengthening of the naval armaments of some Latin American states. It was the only ship of its class. The battleship was built at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. The ship took an active part in the Spanish-American War (1898), including the Battle of Santiago de Cuba. In 1911 in February, USS "Texas" was decommissioned and reclassified as an artillery target.
A small, well designed and richly detailed model of a beautiful ship. The camouflage of the ship is almost parade-like, beautiful and colorful, maybe only the decks could be less "overdone". The model is detailed, as possible at this scale, and the model itself is only intended for intermediate to advanced modelers. There is no stock of colors, but they can be combined sparingly using the color other sides of the details gluing boxes. The graphic instruction is good, informative, easy to read, the textual instruction is small, not very informative, but complements the drawings (in English and Polish).
