IJN “Nisshin” – the Japanese aircraft carrier tender

"Nisshin" - Japanese seaplane transport - tender, its keel was laid in 1938, launched in November 1939 and entered service in the Imperial Japanese Navy in February 1942. The length of the ship - 192.5 m, width - 19.7 m, full displacement - 12,300 tons. The maximum speed of "Nisshin" - up to 28 knots. The main armament consisted of 6 x 140 mm guns in three twin-barreled turrets, auxiliary armament consisted of: 18-20 x 25 mm cannons. The aviation part consisted of 20 seaplanes. "Nisshin" was the only ship of its type and the last large Japanese seaplane transport - tender to enter service during the war in the Pacific. It was an improved version of the "Mizuho" type. The changes concerned increased engine room efficiency, slightly reduced aviation equipment in order to strengthen the artillery. "Nisshin" combat career began in June 1942, participating in the Battle of Midway. In September of the same year, he was sent to fight in the Guadalcanal region, during which he was primarily a traditional transport ship. From October 1942 to July 1943, ‘Nisshin” made numerous voyages on the Rabaul - Truk - Kure or Yokosuka routes. Sunk on July 22, 1943 during an American air attack.

A medium-sized, well-designed and very richly detailed model for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. There are enough details in it to be enough for two much larger models of battleships. There is a considerable supply of colors, the text instruction in Polish are tiny and only general notes, but the graphic ones – so that, all models have them!!!
