The keel of the ship "Susanne" was laid on July 1, 2002 at the Dutch shipyard "Peters" in Kampen. A year later, the ship entered service under the Danish flag. "Susanne" is designed for the transportation of wood and paper from Finland to Western Europe. Therefore, the ship has only one large cargo hatch, which can be fully opened. The dimensions of the ship allow it to sail along the Saimaa Canal from Vyborg (Russia) to Lake Saimaa. This lake is almost in the center of the Finnish wood and paper industry region. Due to the fact, that in winter the ship has to sail in difficult ice conditions in the Gulf of Finland and lakes in Finland, it has a correspondingly reinforced front part and cladding.
A small, well-designed and quite richly detailed ship model without an underwater part, suitable for modelers of any experience. And the model itself is designed in such a way, that more experienced ones can assemble a more complex version, and less experienced ones - a simpler one. Beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, don’t rush and use all reserves of patience, attention and diligence. The textual instructions in Polish and English are large, detailed and will really help You assemble this rather small model and will perfectly complement the excellent graphic instructions. There are no color reserves, the sides have a reserve length in the middle, which is very good, when something does not fit - it is always easier to cut it off, than to "add". Where necessary, the details are printed double-sided printing.
