The ship was launched on December 8, 1934 at the „Deutsche Werke“ shipyard in Kiel. It was one of six light cruisers, that the Germans built just before the war. Before World War II, it participated, together with other Kriegsmarine ships, in the operation to separate the Klaipėda region from Lithuania, when A. Hitler arrived in Klaipėda. During World War II, together with the old battleships „Schleswig Holstein“ and „Schlesen“ and the new light cruisers „Koln“ and „Leipzig“, along with other smaller ships, it participated in the invasion in Poland in September 1939. During the war, „Nurnberg“ was included in the combat forces of the fleet, operating in the Baltic Sea and commanded by Vice Admiral Hermann Denss. In military operations and clashes with enemy ships, it did not stand out much, and after the war, according to the division of the German fleet among the victorious Allied powers, it went to the USSR, where it served as the cruiser "Admiral Makarov" and was cut into metal in the 60s of the XXth century.
Quite a complex model, like the "Maly Modelarz", moderately designed and moderately detailed. The model is not very complicated, but it is also "biting" for beginners and modelers with little experience, only they should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. There is no color stock, The graphic instruction is quite good, only the drawings could be larger, the text instruction is quite extensive and detailed. Antiquarian publication.
