ORP "Garland" (H37) - British "G" type destroyer, built in the interwar period. In 1940 – 1946 he served in the Polish Navy as part of the Royal Navy of Great Britain. After the war, she served in the Dutch Navy until 1964 and was called "Marnix". Built by order of the Royal Navy in 1934 - 1935, he entered service in 1936 as HMS "Garland". At the outbreak of war, he was loaned to the Polish Navy, whose flag was raised on the ship on 3 May 1940 in Malta, retaining her previous name. After completing crew training, “Garland” took a limited part in hostilities in the Mediterranean Sea and from September 1940, having sailed back to Britain, took part in the Battle of the Atlantic. In May 1942, while sailing as part of convoy PQ-16 to the ports of the USSR, he was badly damaged during a Luftwaffe raid, killing 25 crew members. At the end of 1943, the ship was converted into an escort destroyer, and from April of the following year he served in the Mediterranean Sea. On 19 September 1944, together with other British destroyers, she contributed to the sinking of the German submarine U-407. On September 24, 1946 the ship was returned to the British, who sold it to the Dutch a year later, where it served in the Navy as a training ship, later a frigate. It was removed from the lists in 1964, and cut up 4 years later.
A medium size model of a medium-sized ship - perfectly designed for those times, also perfectly detailed, intended for modelers of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and don’t rush. There are no color stocks, excellent textual instructions in Polish, graphical - also quite excellent as for the "Maly Modelarz" publication. Antiquarian publication.
