Sd. Kfz. 250 – the German World War II light half-track armored transporter. Its first prototypes were created in 1939, serially produced in 1940-1944, a total of about 6700 units were produced. Sd.Kfz 250 was powered by a six-cylinder 100 h. p. power engine "Maybach" HL 42 TRKM. Sd.Kfz 250 was designed as a light reconnaissance and multi-purpose transporter for German armored divisions and armored grenadier units. During serial production two versions of the Sd.Kfz 250 hull were created: the first (called "alt") had broken side hull plates and an armor plate, that met at an angle in the front of the hull. In 1943 the "neu" version was introduced, which was simplified: the sides of the hull and the armor plate in the front of the machine were smooth. Several variants and versions of the Sd.Kfz 250 were created during World War II. The first chronological version was the Sd.Kfz 250/1, which was the basic version and was used as a light infantry transporter or reconnaissance vehicle. Later the Sd.Kfz 250/3 version appeared, which was used as a command vehicle with a long-wave loop antenna and a long-range radio station. Even later versions, one of them, armed with an 80 mm mortar (Sd.Kfz 250/7), the other - with a 28 mm anti-tank gun (Sd.Kfz 250/11) or a reconnaissance vehicle with a 20 mm cannon in a rotating turret (Sd. Kfz 250/9). All versions of the Sd.Kfz 250 armored vehicles were mostly used in armored divisions and armored grenadier units on practically all fronts of World War II.
A small, but well-designed and richly detailed model of a small armored vehicle, which will suit modelers of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. And there is no need to rush and everything needs to be done carefully and accurately, some nodes can be simplified a little, without compromising the overall appearance of the model. Kfz. 250, armed with a 28 mm anti-tank gun or Sd. Kfz. 250/1 - an ordinary armored panzer grenadier transporter. Tracks - only from separate tracks. There are no color stocks.
