"ZIU-9" – the Soviet trolleybus

"ZIU-9" is a trolleybus of the USSR and Russia, produced since 1971. It is powered by a 110 kW engine. The maximum speed does not exceed 60 km/h. The trolleybus can carry up to 91 people. "ZIU-9" was created, considering the rapid development of the trolleybus network in the 1960s in the then USSR. It was also supposed to become the main means of public transport in the country and replace the "ZIU-5". Compared to its predecessor, it was much better adapted to serve lines with a large passenger flow - in cities such as Moscow or Kiev. The emphasis was also on reducing production costs and strengthening the construction, using steel instead of aluminum for the body construction. However, the successful installation and electrical equipment, taken over from the "ZIU-5", were slightly modified. During production, several versions of this trolleybus were created, among which we can distinguish: "ZIU-9" (the first version, produced in small series), "ZIU-9B" (large-series version, with minor modifications) or "ZIU-9V" (1976 version with improved electrical installation). Vehicles of this type were exported to other countries, including Poland.

A well-designed and well-detailed model for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. It has excellent detailing of the cabin and passenger compartment equipment, engine compartment, chassis, visible transmission part, exterior details. The textual instruction is quite large and detailed in Russian and Polish, the graphic one is also not small and perfectly explains the entire assembly process. There are color and textures reserve.
