The work on this fighter was started at the end of 1942 in the Focke-Wulf factories. The aircraft was designed by designer Hans Multhopp under the supervision of Kurt Tank. The first option provided for the installation of the Jumo 004 engine in the fighter (Project I). In the second version, it was planned to install a more powerful Heinkel-Hirth HeS 011 engine, which required a slight modification of the tail part of the plane (Project II). In February 1945, the fighter won the fighter design competition, organized by the Luftwaffe High Command. The machine is named Tank Ta 183. The Luftwaffe ordered 16 serial V1-V3 modification fighters. The first flight of the prototype was planned in May-June 1945, and the start of mass production - in October of the same year. In 1945 April 8 the British army occupied the Focke-Wulf factories. Work on the Ta 183 was halted and never resumed. That 183 fighter was never completed and never even attempted to take to the air. In 1945 after the capture of Berlin in the spring, the Soviet Army in the building of the German Ministry of Aviation found a complete set of drawings of the Ta 183 and information about the tests of the fighter wing. Two years later, with an interval of a few weeks, the MiG-15 and F-86 "Sabre" jet fighters appeared in the USSR and the USA, which were very similar in design to the Ta 183.

A medium-complexity, well-designed and fairly well-detailed fighter jet - project model for modellers of all levels of experience. It is only recommended for beginners and advanced beginners to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The model has a well-detailed cockpit interior, chassis and its niches (less, than the chassis itself), exterior detailing, two Hs-29B rocket launchers and an additional fuel tank. There is a small stock of colors. The graphic instruction is large, quite detailed and perfectly readable, the textual one is small and only general references.
