Yakovlev Yak-1 - Soviet World War II era mixed-construction single-engine low-wing monoplane fighter with a classic tail and retractable landing gear. The Yak-1 was the basis for a whole family of fighters (Yak-3, Yak-7, Yak-9), these fighters became the main Soviet fighter in 1941-1945. Mass production continued in 1940-1944, 8670 aircraft of this type were produced. The Yak-1 fought in almost all the most important battles of the USSR-Germany war, especially in the counterattack near Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of Kursk. The prototype, designated I-26, took to the air in January 1940. Serial production began in March of the same year. Several versions of this aircraft were created during the war. The main and first serial version was the Yak-1, the other was the Yak-1M – it was powered by the M-105PF engine and featured a greater use of duralumin in the construction.
From the parts in the publication, You can assemble a model of the Yak-1b fighter, which the Hero of the Soviet Union V. P. Pokrovsky flew and fought in 1944-1945 as part of the 2nd Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Northern Fleet, in one of two painting options. It is quite simple, but well designed and well detailed. Therefore, it is intended for modelers of any average experience. Only beginners (not as one of the first models) and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not to rush. The textual (in Polish) and graphic instructions are small, but detailed and perfectly readable, perfectly explaining the entire process of gluing the model. There is also a short biography of the pilot. There is no stock of colors.
