SPAD 61C1 – the French fighter-biplane of the interwar period. The prototype first flew in 1923; serial production began shortly thereafter. The aircraft was powered by a single 450 h. p. “Lorraine-Dietrich” engine. The fighter was armed with two 7.7 mm machine guns. The SPAD 61C1 was designed and manufactured by the French aviation factory “Bleriot Aeronautique”, as well as under license by the Polish factory “CWL”, and later by “PZL”. The aircraft, for its time, was characterized by a high maximum speed, a very good rate of climb and high rudder sensitivity, which in the hands of an experienced pilot was a great advantage. A major drawback was the dramatically poor construction of the aircraft, as well as the very difficult of bringing the aircraft out of a spin. This type of aircraft was not used in French aviation, in Polish aviation it served until 1933-1934, and from 1929 it was used as a training aircraft.
Not very complicated, well-designed and well-detailed (cabin interior, landing gear, exterior detailing, separate control surfaces, painted with metallic paint or unpainted metal parts printed with "Metallic" type silver paint) fighter model for modelers of any experience. Only beginners and those, with little experience, should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, not rush and use all the reserves of diligence, attentiveness and patience. It will not be possible not make the cabin interior, because it is very clearly visible in the open cockpit. There is a huge reserve of colors. The text instruction is medium in size, but detailed, the graphic one is exemplary.
