The Lockheed Martin F-35 "Lightning II" - a US-made single-seat, single-engine fifth-generation multi-role fighter, designed and manufactured by “Lockheed Martin” within the framework of the "Joint Strike Fighter" program. The goal of this program was to create a machine, that meets the requirements of all branches of the US armed forces. The prototype version was known as the X-35 JSF, but on July 5, 2005 the aircraft received a new official name - "Lightning II". These fighters can perform close support fire, bombing and typical fighter missions. The aircraft project is jointly financed by the USA, Great Britain and other countries, interested in acquiring these fighters. The F-35 “Lightning II” is manufactured under the leadership of “Lockheed Martin’, in cooperation with “BAE Systems” and “Northrop Grumman”. The JSF program was launched with the aim of creating a machine, that can replace many types of aircraft, used until then, which should reduce their production and operating costs in the future. It is planned to create three versions of the aircraft, in which 80% of the parts will be identical, the remaining 20% will consist of systems, designed to adapt the machine to perform specific tasks or operate in specific conditions. The F-35A version is an aircraft, that takes off and lands conventionally (CTOL), designed to replace the F-16 and A-10 in service in the US Air Force. It reached initial combat readiness in 2016. On January 31, 2020 Poland ordered 32 F-35 fighters. Delivery to Poland is scheduled for 2026. In this type of aircraft's will be armed the 32nd Tactical Aviation Brigade in Lask and the 21st TAB Świdwin. The first 4 fighters have already reached Poland and on 2026. 06. 12 they were given the Polish name "Husarz" (Hussar).
A medium-size and well-designed model of a medium-size fighter, richly detailed, of medium complexity, painted in the camouflage of the Polish Air Force. The model is suitable only for medium experience and experienced modelers. This is mainly due to the rather complex shape of the aircraft. The model perfectly reproduces all visible external details, the landing gear, its niches, cockpit equipment, control surfaces only separated from the main surfaces, and the outboard armament (and there is quite a lot of it) is perfectly reproduced. There are a medium reserve of colors, but they should be enough to eliminate possible shortcomings, the textual instruction in Polish are quite large, quite informative and perfectly complement the rather large graphical instruction, which are presented both with drawings and not very bright black and white photos. It is the latter part of the instruction, that is quite difficult to read.
