ORP "Orzel" – the Polish submarine

ORP "Orzel" -the  Polish submarine of the same type. The first of two large Polish ships, built before World War II. It became famous thanks to the so-called "Orzel escape", when, at the beginning of World War II, it managed to escape from Tallinn, where it was arrested and interned. The keel was laid on August 14, 1936 at the Dutch shipyard "De Schellde", launched in 1938. January 15, 1939 and entered service on February 2, 1939. The submarine had a classic construction and was equipped with the latest technology. The power plant consisted of two diesel and electric engines, but the ship itself turned out to be too large for the shallow waters of the Baltic Sea.

A fairly large and detailed, well-designed, but not very complicated model, which can be assembled without much difficulty by an advanced beginner and a modeler with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The graphical instruction, compared to previous editions, have almost doubled in size, but remain of average quality, but sufficient for good model assembly. Moreover, the textual instructions in Polish are excellent and greatly assist in the model assembly process. The model provides for the possibility of making rotating torpedo tubes, the colors have been corrected, some details, some even the shape and assembly sequence have been changed. Where necessary, double-side printing has been used, there are some color reserves, but only gray, although there would have been place for other colors...
