SU45/ SP45 – the diesel locomotive

HCP 301D (also known as SP45 series) is a series of universal diesel locomotives, that were produced from 1970 to 1976 at the Hypolit Cegielski Plant in Poznań (abbreviated as HCP). The service weight of one locomotive was 102 tons, the length with buffers was 18.9 m. The wheel diameter was 1100 mm, with a Co'Co axle system. A total of 270 locomotives of this type were built. The first prototype of the HCP 301D locomotive was presented in 1967, but it required further research and development, which primarily led to the use of a different drive unit. Finally, the serial HCP 301D locomotives were powered by a diesel 2112SF engine with a power of 1700-1750 hp, manufactured under license from the FIAT concern. HCP 301D locomotives were primarily used to haul large freight and high-speed passenger trains. Over time, with the electrification of Polish railway lines, they were transferred to regional and secondary lines.

A not very complex, but quite detailed (there is even a driver's cab equipment) model for such a scale, which can be made in one of four versions, differing in the painting and marking of the lower front and rear parts. The model will suit beginners and modelers with little experience, but they should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not make driver's cab equipment and transparent windows. The textual instructions are small, but quite detailed, the graphic ones are also small, but sufficient. There are color stocks.
