In November 1987 the European ministries, responsible for space flights, initiated the “Ariane 5” rocket project. The main reason for this decision was the desire to remain independent and competitive in launching European (and not only) space objects into orbit. This path was paved by the “Ariane 4” rocket of the previous project. 12 members, belonging to the European Space Agency (ESA), signed up to this program. The management of this program included ESA, which became the main performer, and CNES, which employed several European industrial contractors for the production and development of important components. 15 European industrialists participated in the program. Arianespace, whose shareholders were primarily those, belonging to CNES, and industrialists, involved in the development and production of the rocket, the market, for maintenance and servicing, used different versions of the European rocket. The most common “Ariane” missions were the launch of one or two satellites into geostationary orbit (communications and television satellites), or the launch of Earth observation satellites, the delivery of components for the International Space Station and the launch of space sonds for observing the Universe into suitable orbits.
A large, well-designed and sufficiently detailed model of a beautiful rocket for modelers of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not to rush. The most difficult part of this model will be the assembling of large cylindrical parts, so we recommend, that You practice making them by making several copies from the publication. There are no color reserves (only white is everywhere), the textual instruction - only a few notes about the most difficult stages. The graphical instructions are also not too large and only the main points - even some parts are not numbered in it.
