"Witte de With" – the Dutch missile frigate. Its keel was laid in 1981, launched in 1984, two years later entered service with the Koninklijke Marine. The ship is 130.5 meters long, 14.6 meters wide and 4.3 meters draft. The armament consists of two 4-tube “Harpoon” anti-ship missile launchers, one Mk. 13 Mod 4 installations with a reserve of 40 GDC “Pomona” surface-to-air missiles, one 8-container “Sea Sparrow” surface-to-air missile launcher and a 30 mm “Signaal Goalkepper” artillery complex. “Witte de With” belongs to the “Jacob van Heemskerck” class, which includes two ships. They are a modified version of the “Kortenaer”-class frigates. The “Jacob van Heemskerck”-class ships, compared to their predecessors, have significantly enhanced anti-aircraft armament, which was achieved by reducing the anti-submarine warfare armament. For example, “Witte de With” does not have an assigned anti-submarine defense helicopter, which is standard on “Kortenaer”-class frigates. Nevertheless, “Witte de With” was a very successful frigate, characterized by good seaworthiness, high autonomy and combat capabilities. "Witte de With" was sold to the Chilean Navy.
A not very large model of a medium-size ship, but well detailed and also well designed, intended only for medium-experienced and experienced modelers. The model has all the details perfectly designed: hull, underwater parts, superstructures, armament, deck and control equipment. There is a not very large stock of colors. The textual instruction in Polish is considerable, quite detailed and will certainly help in the process of assembling the model. The graphical instruction is quite considerable and is certainly sufficient for good gluing of the model, informative and easy to read.
