The prototype of the new fighter - monoplane "Hurricane" with the number K5083 took to the air for the first flight on November 6, 1935. The first serial planes were delivered to units in the second half of 1937. In the course of production, the fighter was modified several times. Initially, the fabric wing cover was replaced with a metal one, the two-bladed wooden propeller was soon replaced with a three-bladed metal one, and the area of the rudder was increased. At the outbreak of war, the "Hurricane" became the main fighter of the RAF, along with the newer "Spitfires". These planes survived the most intense period of the Battle of Britain in 1940. In total, more than 14 thousand copies of this plane were produced in 1937-1944. Polish divisions within the RAF were also armed with "Hurricane" fighters. With such a fighter, only the Mk. IIc versions, Romualdas Marcinkus, the only Lithuanian AF pilot, who became an ace in the RAF, flew and was shot down.

A model of a medium-complexity fighter that was flown by Polish pilots in the 303rd Polish Kosciuszko Division of the British RAF during World War II. The model details everything that is possible, but at the same time, it is not very complicated, so it can be glued even by a modeler with little experience working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Antiquarian publication.
