Janowec (Poland) Castle - reconstruction

Janowec Castle is a Renaissance castle, built in 1508–1526 on a steep slope of the Vistula in Janowce (14.5 km south of Puławy), Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. The castle was probably built in the early 16th century by Mikolaj Firlej and expanded by his son Piotr, voivode of the Rus' Voivodeship. The bastion, used as a residence, was destroyed by the Swedish army in 1655 during the Swedish invasion. Although subsequent owners of the castle tried hard to restore the castle, it never managed to regain its former glory. In 1928 the castle was taken over by archaeologist Leon Kozłowski, but his plans to restore the castle were stopped by World War II. After World War II the castle remained in its original state, being one of many private castles. In 1975 the castle was acquired by the Nadwiślańskie Museum in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland.

A not very large and not very complex model of a fairly large castle, well designed and moderately detailed, suitable for modelers of any experience. Only for beginners this should not be one of the first, more complex models, advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, don’t rush, work carefully and accurately. The model recreates the appearance of the castle from the end of the 16th century, so it is not a castle model, but a model - reconstruction. The model is not characterized by a high level of detailization, but, when assembled, it should look presentable and competitive in competitions. There is a small reserves of colors, You can choose a simpler or more complex version of the model. The textual instruction is quite large and detailed, in Polish and English, the graphical instruction is not very large, but in places difficult to understand, requiring closer study.
