"MoAZ-546P" – the USSR single-axle tractor

In the early 1960s, the Mogilev Automobile Plant developed and assembled the first pilot batch of single-axle "MoAZ-546" tractors. Their main external distinguishing feature was the angular shape of the engine compartment and a single-seat cabin. The tractors were equipped with a standard "JaMZ-238A" diesel engine (14.87 liters, 215 h. p.). In the country's economy, these tractors were used to tow the new 12-cubic-meter D-357P scraper and the modernized D-504A earth-moving trailer, secretly continuing almost all the military functions of the previous single-axle vehicles. The 546P tractor had a weight of 10 tons and a total length of 4585 mm. The maximum permissible weight of a road train increased to 35 tons, and the reference fuel consumption was 110 liters per 100 km. By the way, these tractors were widely used as scrapers in the Lituanian SSR (in the building of the Kaunas-Klaipėda highway) and in Lituania, which had already regained independence - we painted the names of Lituanian companies on the hull (it is best, if they are supported by archival photos) and our collection of "Lithuanian" equipment was replenished with another interesting exhibit.

A large and well-detailed model of a large tractor. Detailed engine compartment, control cabin, all external details. The model is intended only for intermediate and experienced modelers, but even for them it will be quite a challenge. There are no color stocks. The textual instruction in English, Polish, Russian and German are quite extensive, complementing the excellent graphical instructions, which are really large, informative, clear and easy to read.
