The PC-class submarine hunters were a class of anti-submarine ships of the United States Navy, designed and built to combat enemy submarines. Their total displacement was 325 tons, length – 51.7 meters, width – 7 meters, and draft – 2.12 meters. They could reach a speed of 17 knots. Armament varied during production and usually consisted of one or two 76 mm MK-22 universal guns, 20 mm Oerlikon cannons and MK-20 or MK-6 depth charge launchers. The ships also had modern radar and sonar equipment for their time. During World War II (1941–1945), 343 ships of this class were built in the United States.
