Strange and unexpected were the twists and turns in the history of the construction and use of this plane. From the first tests in the air, specialists noticed, that this is a great machine, that can return to Germany the control of the airspace, that is decreasing every month. Design work began as early as 1938, when the Junkers and BMW factories produced the first working jet engines. But the first flight of an airplane with installed engines "Jumo 004" was made only in July 1942. It is hard to believe, but the plane, despite its ever-improving flight characteristics, did not interest the highest authorities of the Third Reich. The decision to start serial production was made by Hitler himself, but he ordered to convert this excellent fighter into a strike plane or bomber. Rework took a lot of time and the Me-262 reached the front too late and there were few of them, which had no effect on the course of the war.

A medium-complexity, well-designed and fairly well-detailed model of a jet fighter - a fighter model that would be great for a modeller of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience should have a colleague nearby who can give advice in difficult moments. Antiquarian publication.
